1. About Chess Bot Coach

Chess Bot Coach is a browser extension designed to help users learn and understand chess by analyzing supported Chess.com study, training, analysis, and computer-game positions using Stockfish.

The extension is intended for educational use. Its public version does not provide move suggestions during unsupported online games against other players.

2. Information the Extension Processes

To provide its core functionality, Chess Bot Coach may process the following information locally in your browser:

The URL of the active Chess.com page, in order to determine whether the extension is being used in a supported context.
Chessboard position data, including piece locations and FEN information when available.
Board orientation and visual information needed to synchronize the board and piece appearance with Chess.com.
Technical information required for the extension to communicate with the active Chess.com tab.

3. How This Information Is Used

The information described above is used only to provide the extension's chess-learning functionality, including:

Displaying the current chess position in the side panel.
Analyzing supported positions with Stockfish.
Providing candidate moves, evaluations, and educational explanations.
Synchronizing the side-panel board with the appearance and orientation of the Chess.com board.
Determining whether analysis features are available in the current Chess.com context.

4. Local Processing

Chess analysis is performed locally on the user's device. Stockfish JavaScript and WebAssembly files are included directly in the extension package.

Chess positions, Chess.com page URLs, and board information processed by the extension are not transmitted to our servers for analysis.

5. Data We Do Not Collect

Chess Bot Coach does not intentionally collect:

Names or postal addresses.
Passwords, authentication credentials, or security answers.
Payment card or financial information.
Health information.
Personal emails, messages, or chat communications.
Precise geographic location.
Keystroke, mouse-movement, or general behavioral tracking data.

6. Feedback and Email

If you choose to contact us at feedback@hazzy.it, you voluntarily provide the information contained in your email, including your email address and any details you choose to share.

This information is used only to respond to feedback, bug reports, questions, or suggestions.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell user data.

We do not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated commercial purposes.

8. Remote Code

Chess Bot Coach does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code. Executable extension code, including Stockfish, is packaged with the extension.

9. Permissions

Chess Bot Coach requests only the browser permissions needed for its stated purpose. These permissions may include access to the side panel, the active Chess.com tab, script execution on Chess.com, and Chess.com host access.

Host access is limited to Chess.com and its subdomains and is used only to read supported chessboard information and provide the extension's educational features.

10. Data Retention

Chessboard and page information used for analysis is processed during use of the extension and is not intentionally stored on our servers.

Emails sent voluntarily to the feedback address may be retained as reasonably necessary to handle the conversation, bug report, or support request.

11. Children

Chess Bot Coach is a general-purpose educational chess tool and is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
